The Blood Unit is a Haematology Group Practice comprising four haematologists, A/Prof Melita Kenealy, A/Prof Kirsten Herbert, Prof Michael Dickinson, A/Prof Stephen Ting, A/Prof Max Wolf, Dr Joshua Casan and Dr Adrian Minson. Our service also includes our support staff; a Haematology specialist nurse, an accredited haematology registrar and our administrative staff. Since 2005 The Blood Unit doctors have collaborated and worked together at various hospitals in Melbourne. Our Haematologists sit on many of the same committees and advisory boards within the Haematology community and have always enjoyed a vibrant and constructive working relationship.
The Blood Unit was officially formed in 2014 in order to improve services to our patients at Cabrini and also to our medical colleagues via the consultative service we provide for inpatients and outpatients at Cabrini. Our focus is on good continuity of care, evidence-based practice, excellent communication with our patients and our colleagues, and quality patient education and follow up.
